Today we are going to celebrate dear Teesie’s 20th birthday.
In preparation for the festivities, Reb and I decided we needed a few ingredients from the store, such as unsweetened chocolate, to make the Sour Cream Chocolate Cake that Kayla requested for her special dessert. As we were running our errands, I realized that the twinge I felt in my back this morning was NOT going to go away, but was rather getting worse the longer I stayed out.
When we arrived back home, the girls brought in all the groceries and put them away while I made my way, slowly and carefully, to the foam mat that Kayla laid out on the living room floor so that I could ease me poor achin’ back. Rebecca then proceeded to bake the cake (Thank you, Dearie!).
Then, dedicated blogger that I am (silly one that I am), I slowly and carefully moved myself on over to the office so that I could do my promised daily blog post.
One nice thing about needing to stay (mostly) supine is that I am finally reading a book that was highly recommended to me by the children: Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. It would be a really good idea to read this book before its movie version is released, because, in my opinion, books are always better than movies, and I don’t want to form any false impressions of the book from seeing the movie first.
I believe Kayla is going to be preparing her own birthday dinner, with Lydia’s assistance. They’re planning on making some homemade pizza (yummers!), and serving a green salad with that. Guess I’ll have to wait until Monday to bake bread (sigh).
I wish for you a blessed Lord’s Day tomorrow. Now, I think I’ll get back to my book.
