Warm Day, Relaxing Day

Debra and I have been enjoying a lovely, WARM morning here, as we await the homecoming of the rest of the family from California tomorrow. Rebecca gave me a call to let me know they are currently “on the road”, and the sail boat is towing nicely behind our little car. 🙂

Rick will be glad to know that Debra showed me how to clean the fountain filter for his goldfish pond. We did that. So nice on a warm day (feels much warmer than 80 degrees – maybe it’s humid as well) for the fish to have plenty of water circulation.

We also cleaned the above-ground swimming pool filter and added bleach to the water. Someone who knows how to vacuum the pool bottom will have to do that when everyone’s home. Eek! It looks a little scummy. 🙁

Next, Debra watered all the garden beds, and is just starting the sprinkler down by the apple trees. I see she has the sprinkler going by the raspberry bushes as well.

I’ve reserved some books and CDs online from our library system. I recently finished reading Regency Buck by Georgette Heyer. It was an enjoyable read in the manner of Jane Austen (though lighter). Now I’m in the mood for some good young adult literature that was recommended by Celtic Librarian on her Thursday 13 post this week. I’ve requested:

  • Aunt Dimity’s Death by Nancy Atherton
  • Escape to Witch Mountain by Alexander Key
  • Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters
  • The Girl with the Silver Eyes by Willo Davis Roberts
  • The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie King

I’ve taken longer to do this little post than I anticipated. I’d better get busy in the real world again.

Whew! It’s going to be a HOT day! Hope you all have a good day. 🙂
