I am barely squeaking in a little post, because I was a tolerably good girl and didn’t procrastinate doing some paperwork which I thought was going to be a lot more work than it was. What I mean is, I got down to business and I DID get the paperwork done and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It was time-consuming, however, and, in my current fatigued state, I forget the excellent blogging ideas that were bouncing about my brain. Ahhh . . . Now I remember! I was going to post about some things for which I am thankful. So . . . This won’t be a long list, since I’m longing for my soft pillow, but here are a few things:
- I’m thankful for access to the Internet. It’s so useful for researching items of interest, and so handy for connecting with friends and family.
- I’m thankful for a mind that works. I enjoy thinking about things.
- I’m thankful for hands that work. I’m reminded of this just now as I type this entry. Hands are such handy things.
- I’m thankful for each member of my family. They are all so different in personalities, strengths, weaknesses, and interests, which contributes to a rich family life.
- I’m thankful to have life’s necessities, and many comforts as well.
- I’m thankful we have enough to be able to show hospitality and charity to others.
- I’m thankful our particular river here in Washington didn’t flood its banks.
- I’m thankful I didn’t accidentally kill our dear doggie by feeding her too many turkey leftovers.
- I’m thankful for easy access to good books. I LOVE to read.
- I’m thankful for intelligent family and friends who enjoy discussing books, ideas, issues, etc.
- I’m thankful that the Lord is in charge of everything, and working all things according to His most holy and wise will. That means I don’t need to fear even the negative things that come into my life (unlike poor Robert Burns, who felt the homeless mousie was better off than him, because of his fears of what the future might bring).
- I’m thankful that my husband is a Christian, who takes seriously the calling to lead his family in the ways of righteousness.
- I’m thankful that my husband works diligently, day in and day out, to provide for his family.
I really need to go to sleep, so I’ll be thankful again another time. 😛
