What a wonderful surprise to find your comment on my “101 Things” post at Small Reflections (where I left a public response to your comment already, so I hope you checked the little box to receive follow-up in email) and then to discover the link to this lovely post in your comment on my Haiku (all of which show up in my email). This little award looks like it was made especially for you the way it fits your color scheme here. LOL
I appreciate you sharing it in this manner and I wish we could chat over coffee about many things. I’d be more than happy to share what I know about ‘active engagement strategies’ … or anything else for that matter. Capturing and holding student’s attention is essential for meaningful learning to occur … and that’s where the ‘variables of motivation’ come in.
Typing this comment reminds me that while I was at Book Club last night with some of my retired teaching friends, several were urging me to come out of retirement and do some workshops for teachers and/or motivational speaking for educators and parents. I do think about sharing occasionally, but there are only so many hours in the day and I have so many wonderful hobbies at the moment.
