Give Me Five Monday

Give Me 5 Monday logo

The question this week for Give Me Five Monday is:

Give Me Five random things you’ve never done before.

  • I’ve never traveled by railroad, though I would like to do so.
  • I’ve never smoked a cigarette. I think all the smoke bothered me when I was growing up, so I just never wanted to try it.
  • I have never traveled to the East Coast of the U.S. or to the South.
  • I have never lived where there are hurricanes or tornadoes.
  • I haven’t been to a spa (yet)!

Hostess Becca says this about the meme:

The ‘Give Me Five’ Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here’s how it works. Each week, I will put out a random topic from my list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back here! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn’t have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified.

Love Love Love your list!! I have been on trains, sorta. But I’ve always wanted to travel cross country by train to see the beautiful scenery. The one thing I have found about traveling by train on the shorter trips I’ve tried was that trains are noisy. And they put those noisy tracks back behind things and so you find that the views are often times the backs of things or are hidden behind other things and the scenic route is suddenly not so pleasantly scenic LOL

If you haven’t tried a cigarette by now DON’T DO IT. It’s a disgusting nasty unhealthy habit that is very easily started and takes many people’s lives before they can finally quit. I was a blessed woman to escape the habit with my life!

I do hope you get to the South and also to the East Coast some day real soon. These parts of our country are charming in their own ways and really are a wonderful trip to see! Thanks for playing today 🙂

I’ve actually done all except one. I’ve never travelled to the East coast. I’d like to go to the South as in S. Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi. I live in TX which is Southern, but not the true South, and we definitely get hurricanes!

I think you have a great place to live there. Here we have no cyclones either. That is what they call them up north in Australia. I am wondering if you have seen much of the south or east by way of photos? My husband has been to both and I learnt so much from them that I didn’t know before. I suppose it was because I really didn’t know what America was like. Things like the traffic lights ours are on poles on the side. And the corn and pumpkin decorations, and how lovely Walgreens candy is and what Walmart was like. He went to NY and NY state first. Another time Tennesee and also northern California, which I could relate to. I loved the roadside plantings in TN. Lots of people now in Australia follow the American painting of houses blue. Well not lots, but more than before which was none.

My Nana took me travelling by train to the city 3 hours to watch my uncle play sport that was the top in that sport. She always packed sheet cake? or slice. I regret not being able to take my children, but I think they may have been with school, but probably only 2 or 3 of them.

My husband went by Amtrack from Poughkeepsie NY or nearby to the city. I liked the photos of the Canadian geese near the more country station or train stop.

  5. Well . . . Ditto about the cigarettes — amazing how smoke in your face as a child impresses upon you DON’T DO IT! I never did!

Never lived with tornadoes (or hurricanes) but my dad came from the South Dakota plains and he had stories that curled our hair!!!

You simply MUST have a day at a spa! It rivals train travel, the east coast AND the South. (and each of these is great and should be achieved).

Always fun to pop over and see what you are up to. : D
