Give Me Five Monday

It’s time for Give Me Five Monday. Hostess Becca gives us this prompt today:

Give Me Five end-of-summer wrap up thoughts.

  • I was blessed to be present for the birth of granddaughter Claire, first child for daughter Sarah and her husband Justin, who was born August 15th.
  • My husband repaired the Pelican sailboat he received from his dad. We have enjoyed sailing in Bellingham Bay this summer.
  • This summer, all of the children had jobs, including our 13 year old son who did weed eating and other chores for a neighboring farmer. Other jobs for the children included working for a local plant nursery, janitorial work, and weaving for a small textile company. The kids have enjoyed earning their own money!
  • Daughter Rebecca attended classes for one week in Washington, DC with two other girls from our local high school. They studied global health and the environment.
  • The three youngest children took excellent care of themselves, our pets and the home while Rick, Debra and I spent almost two weeks in California. Rick was doing carpentry work for his folks, but it was also a time of going to the beach, visiting family, and even meeting my blogging friend Susan!

Hostess Becca says this about the meme:

The ‘Give Me Five’ Monday meme is designed to share fun information with each other in a simple short list! Here’s how it works. Each week, I will put out a random topic from my list of topics and you share 5 answers of your choice on the given topic and link back here! You can add photos, links or stories or just a simple list of your own of 5 things that relate to the topic as it pertains to you and your life experiences. It doesn’t have to be in any order of importance unless otherwise specified.

What a fun Meme. I think I will try this one too.

That’s great that all the kids had jobs this summer. I really need to push my boys that way. It would be so good for them.
