Here Comes the Sun (let’s hope!)
June 5th, 2008 . by JoyceFriends, you would never guess, from the downright cold weather (40 to 50 degrees, the last week, I think) we’ve been experiencing that it’s almost summer time! It was so chilly when the apple trees were in flower this spring that I doubt any bees were around to pollinate the blossoms. Let’s wait and see if we get much fruit this fall. Anyhow, my mood has been subdued with all these overcast, chilly, rainy days upon days. My haiku is based upon my hope that sunnier days are ahead. The photo for this haiku was taken a few summers ago.

Oooh, I can very much relate. Sunflowers do make it all seem sunny and warm and happy. We’re still in the 50’s here (in the Northwest). In June.

Lovely Haiku on this gorgeous sunflower photo! We’ve all had such strange weather this year haven’t we? Hard to imagine any of this is ‘normal’ … but I suppose (as with all things), this too shall pass. I hope you have a peace-filled day … every day ;–)
Hugs and blessings,

I love sunflowers! A good friend of mine’s husband made their kids a sunflower house. It was like chicken wire, or some kind of fencing and the sunflower vines covered it all over and now it’s a playhouse. My kids love visiting that sunflower house.
We have had a week of over 100 weather! Cold sounds good to me, but the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!
Hope your feeling sunny again soon!

Sunflowers are so beautiful. They are one of my favorites to plant in my wildflower garden.
