Today I’m thinking about how VERY important LOVE is.
I’m a person who loves to learn. I’m curious about so many things, and there just isn’t enough time to read all that I would like to read, or to study all that I would like to study. Often, I have prayed for wisdom, as I am encouraged to do in James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
But as I read God’s Word, I am reminded that there is something of much greater significance in life than wisdom (though wisdom is essential), and that is LOVE:
1Corinthians 13:2 –” If I have (the gift of) prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. “(New American Standard Version)
Any knowledge or wisdom or learning that I have must be used lovingly, for the edification of others. Even if I’m sure I’m correct about something, that’s no excuse for becoming impatient, pushy or rude. (To be continued – It’s time to leave for the evening worship service, and since it’s windy and the power might go out, I wanted to publish a little something while I may.) J
