My excuses

I’m VERY LATE getting a blog post out today, but with good reason.

Reason #1: The principal at our middle school asked me to work an extra hour per day until the end of the school year. What this means is that I have less time to get at-home work done, and thus, less time to spend blogging. Please be assured that the desire to blog is still there, but, alas, I don’t have quite as much time for blogging!

Reason #2: Tonight Rick and I took our son who is in his senior year at Western Washington University out for a nice dinner at the North Fork Beer Shrine to celebrate his successful senior project presentation, which involved lots of programming and lots of higher math. We had a relaxing time of conversation. This was worthwhile and enjoyable, but did necessitate time away from the computer.

Reason #3: We received a phone call tonight from our oldest son telling us that he would be home soon to pick up his brother and drive him back with him to the Seattle area tomorrow. Son number two is on Spring break, and has an internship interview with Microsoft on Thursday. So, the two boys are going to spend some time together. (Usually I use the children’s names in my posts, but the older boys are nervous about their names being Googled, and my anecdotes about them coming up in the search. I’m trying to be cooperative here, so you will have to look elsewhere on this blog to discover their names, if you are so inclined.) I took the time to sit down with this son also, cup of cocoa in hand, to hear what’s been going on in his world. This was good to do, was it not? We had a good time.

So, that’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it. I have some good posts just waiting to be written, but now I must get some shut-eye.

Thank you, Storyteller, for your kind comment. I just now (3/29) found it. For some reason, not all comments have been showing up in my email. ๐Ÿ™

I’ve been enjoying your tennis haikus. ๐Ÿ™‚
