- Automatic clothes washers and dryers
- Gas or electric cook tops and ovens
- Good roads
- Water purification and delivery systems
- Indoor plumbing and sewage systems
- Generation and harnessing of electric power
- The printing press (more widespread dissemination of information, development of literature)
- Machines to make large-scale farming possible
- Irrigation methods
- The drip coffee maker with an insulated carafe. (Yum! This makes the best coffee in the world, if you freshly grind some good coffee beans.)
