This is our outdoor kitty, Percy, sitting on the netting over Rick’s goldfish pond, wishing he could still go fishing. Before Rick put this netting on, I watched Percy sit on the ledge with his paw dipped in the water. The curious fish swam up to examine the paw, and – viola! – Percy snatched a tasty tidbit from the water. The goldfish are pets, too, receiving excellent upkeep of their habitat from Rick, so something was quickly done to hinder the little fisherman from decimating their numbers.
Still, isn’t Percy cute?
I love watching Percy do that!
Ahh, cute little guy. My MIL had to put a net over her fish pond to keep out the herons. They were just gobbling the poor things up.
Thanks, Sarah and Kerri, for your comments. 🙂
My father-in-law, down in Inverness, CA, lost all of his expensive koi to a heron. Around here, we really have to watch out for raccoons as well.
Rick put little “feeder” goldfish in his pond, and they have really grown. Also, our indoor fantail goldfish got too big for his aquarium, so he was moved outside. He loves all the room, and his companions, especially the two females. 🙂
Percy is adorable! Makes me miss my little kitty <3
