The Simple Woman’s Daybook

HOSTED BY PEGGY

For Today, Oct. 6, 2008:

Outside my Window… I see our kitty, Bonnie Boy, perched on the front porch railing, smiling a contented kitty smile. Beyond, I see leaves, some still green, trembling in the breeze. It’s only 50 degrees outside. Ten years ago it was 75 degrees on this date. We’re enjoying a cool, gray autumn day here.

I am thinking… it’s about time to get back to household duties.

From the learning rooms… Two students with whom I work at the middle school made good progress today in revising their personal memoirs.

I am thankful for… God’s providence, in continually caring for our family, day after day.

From the kitchen… I’m making Beef Stroganoff and baked potatoes for dinner tonight. Hmmm . . . Coleslaw would be good with that.

I am wearing… School clothes: Multi-shades of blue sweater over a brown-edged top and a black mid-calf gored skirt.

I am reading… The Shiniest Jewel: A Family Love Story by Marian Henley.

I am hoping… to find comfortable shoes for my elderly mom.

I am creating…this blog post before I get started on the stroganoff.

I am hearing…the chatter of grandson, Diederick. He has decided to call my husband “Poppa,” and keeps wandering by Rick’s office, saying, “Hi, Poppa! Hi, Poppa!”

Around the house… When I got home from the middle school I came into Rick’s office to greet him. He was working on drawing plans at his computer, balancing 4-month old granddaughter Carly on his lap. ‘Twas a sight to warm the cockles of me heart, I tell ya!

One of my favorite things… Kissing Carly over and over on the top of her head, and blowing kisses on Diederick’s neck.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…Attend Seth’s 7th grade football game, and Rebecca and Lydia’s high school soccer games. They have two games this week.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…

Check out the graphics at Snapshots of Joy, one of my favorite sites for Christian graphics! This one looks like “autumn” to me. 🙂
