The Simple Woman’s Daybook

For Today…November 17, 2008

Outside my Window…Well, it’s close to bedtime, so the curtains are closed. I was out late this evening at a school meeting, and noted that it was a bit foggy.

I am thinking…of the poor folks in Southern California who have lost their homes to the wildfires. What a sore trial!

From the learning rooms…One of my daughters and I attended a meeting at the high school this evening to learn more about the possibility of job apprenticeships for students with learning disabilities. We came away with lots of reading material.

I am thankful for…the progress being made in fighting those wildfires. One of my blogging buddies lives down there, and has been keeping her readers posted.

From the kitchen…Nothing special happened tonight. We are fighting a flu bug that also affects the inner workings, so none of us are very hungry.

I am wearing…something that I often wear on school days: my favorite black skirt, a white long-sleeved blouse, and a cozy, three-quarter length sweater over.

I am reading…(rereading, actually, since I’ve finished the book) chapters 5 and 6 of Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney for our ladies’ book club this Wednesday.

I am hoping…that all of our tummies feel better soon.

I am creating…this blog post, and in a hurry, too. I still have to put the clean sheets and comforter back on our bed so we can go to sleep soon.

I am hearing…my husband kindly asking me if I’d like some ice cream, but my poor tum can’t handle that yet.

Around the house…It’s quiet; all the children have headed off to bed. I’ll just do a bit more laundry and then I’m heading to bed, too.

One of my favorite things…is arriving safely home once again after being out.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…Just work at the middle school half a day each day, then come home to work at home. I really want to get some baking done. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get to bake some bread.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…

Going for a walk is one thing that DIDN’T happen today. This picture is recent, though. We live in such a beautiful area. Hopefully tomorrow will be less fast-paced.

Hostess Peggy says this about The Simple Woman’s Daybook:

Are you content to linger on the simple things of life…then join me in taking a little look into the day plans and thoughts of those of us who are focusing on simplicity…the beauty of the everyday moments around us. That is my vision for this idea!
