Thirteen things I did at the Northwest Washington Fair this year:
1. I learned how to make cotton candy, and made lots of it.
2. Got very sticky. All over. From wisps of cotton candy.
3. This was in the concessions booth for our high school Music Boosters club, where I worked a shift yesterday and today.
4. Saw that our daughter Kayla was awarded Best of Show for a painting she did of her best friend. Congratulations, Kayla!
5. Found out that one of my daughters’ girlfriends is very good at judging vegetables and other produce. Congratulations, Paige!
6. Watched the horse show at the grandstand. This is my favorite thing to do at the fair. Big horses, little horses, coaches, miniature chariots, barrel racing, on and on. There’s nothing like it!
7. Talked with lots of friends, some of whom practically live at the fairgrounds this time of year, due to their involvement with 4H, judging, volunteering, etc. That would be Grace, and Sue, too.
8. Listened to The Timebenders do some great remixes of music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. They have a lot of energy and are quite funny.
9. Caught the very end of the magic show by our favorite young magician, Sterling Dietz.
10. I ate a candy apple for the first time in probably 20 years. Quite yummy, but too much candy.
11. I stayed far, far away from all rides.
12. I did not try to win any plastic blow-up toys.
13. I had a good time.
I haven’t been to a fair like this in a long time but you’ve reminded me of what I’ve been missing!! I love cotton candy and would love to know how to make it…although I hate the stickiness if it gets on my clothes! I must look out for a NY State Fair…everyone needs to feel young again sometimes!
I loved your T13, I’m glad I stopped by. And thank you for visiting mine!
bella 🙂
Great TT!! I really miss the county fairs of my childhood–I used to work in our schools Gumbo Stand. (I grew up in coastal Mississippi). Sounds like you had a great time!
