Wordful Wednesday – What searches lead others to your blog?

Have you ever checked what searches lead folks to your blog? Sitemeter has a ‘referral’ category that I check every so often, just for fun. I couldn’t believe how consistently the following searches bring the curious to my blog:

  • ‘The Dash’, a poem by Linda Ellis. I love this poem. If you want to know more about it, or perhaps purchase an illustrated gift book or short movie of the poem, visit the site Simple Truths. All you curious people who keep coming to my blog looking for this poem, take note!
  • Stomach flu – I think I did one post about this! Instead of visiting a medical site, I guess lots of folks want anecdotal accounts from a mom.
  • Dog pancreas – I triggered a pancreatitis attack in my poor doggie a couple years ago by giving her oily turkey leftovers. Again, O Curious Ones, go to a site like Dogster. I did do my best to give my warning, so maybe that post will help someone.

In keeping with the theme of life’s brevity, and doing something meaningful during ‘The Dash’ between one’s date of birth and one’s death, here is a lovely image from Snapshots of Joy. Is that fair, Angie? It isn’t my photo…Today is so busy and I didn’t have time to go to the little graveyard to photograph a gravestone.

I get the most people searching for shredded chicken sandwiches. Consistently. Several a week. Who knew so many people were looking for that recipe all the time! lol.

I don’t think I’ve ever checked where folks come from, but maybe I will because I do have sitemeter on 3 of my 4 of my blogs.

I never figured out how to do that on sitemeter. I think of this very thing when I google something and end up at a new blog. Usually it’s about gardening stuff, nothing too strange.
